Lake Rejuvenation, Oragadam was a National Agro Foundation (NAF) project carried out in partnership with Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd. in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, from 2022 to 2024. Among the results recorded under NAF's Watershed Division: 1 large waterbody rejuvenated, excavating 1,02,002 cubic metres and creating 1.2 lakh KL of water harvesting potential; and 2 mud heaps created to support bird habitats, biodiversity and ecological restoration. It is one of 23 completed Watershed Division projects.
About this project
A tool to uplift rural communities, improve socio-economic conditions, foster sustainable practices and protect the ecosystem.
The project is part of NAF’s Watershed Division. Rejuvenated lakes and ponds, check dams, canal lining and recharge structures across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Haryana, each one leaving a village with more water than it began with.
