Training & Capacity Building

Farmer training curriculum

Practical, hands-on and ready for the farmer's field.

The curriculum is built to be applied the next morning, across a wide range of themes, from farmer-club formation and exposure visits to specialised technical trainings and student internships.

What we train farmers on

  1. Lean farming technologies and organic input and formulation production
  2. Integrated farming systems, sericulture and mushroom production
  3. Post-harvest management, value addition and marketing
  4. Vermicomposting, Azolla cultivation and soil health management
  5. Water management, micro-irrigation and watershed development
  6. Drone technology and other climate-resilient, weather-based agro-technologies
  7. System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) techniques
  8. Clean milk production, goatery, backyard poultry and fish culture
  9. Financial literacy for Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  10. Government scheme awareness, and health and sanitation programmes
  11. Exposure visits to agricultural universities, KVKs, veterinary colleges and progressive farms

Beyond farmer-focused sessions, CFRD also hosts exposure visits and internships for students from schools and universities, and specialised workshops such as project leadership, ethics and accountability.
