TNIAMP FPOs: World Bank Assisted was a National Agro Foundation (NAF) project carried out in partnership with the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project (TNIAMP) in river basin areas of Tamil Nadu, from 2020 to 2023. Among the results recorded under NAF's Agri-Business Division: handheld 55 FPOs across 3 phases. Phase I: 26 FPOs in 19 districts; Phase III: 13 FPOs in 9 districts; Phase IV: 16 FPOs in 10 districts; and start-up grants: ₹10 lakh secured for every participating FPO. It is one of 8 completed Agri-Business Division projects.
About this project
Focused on river basin areas, community strengthening and business development. NAF gave intensive, multi-phase handholding on statutory compliance, governance and supply chain management.
The project is part of NAF’s Agri-Business Division. From the first TNSFAC producer companies in 2014 to World Bank-assisted programmes handholding 55 FPOs at a time: the institutions farmers now own and run.
