TNRTP FPOs: World Bank Assisted was a National Agro Foundation (NAF) project carried out in partnership with the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project (TNRTP) in Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore and the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, from 2020 to 2023. Among the results recorded under NAF's Agri-Business Division: handheld and supported 10 FPOs across 5 districts; and upgraded existing on-farm and off-farm Self-Help Group enterprises into robust, market-ready FPOs. It is one of 8 completed Agri-Business Division projects.
About this project
NAF was empanelled as the Technical Support Agency (TSA) of TNRTP.
The project is part of NAF’s Agri-Business Division. From the first TNSFAC producer companies in 2014 to World Bank-assisted programmes handholding 55 FPOs at a time: the institutions farmers now own and run.
